Step One--Kick-Off Coordinator Workshop

Training your coordinators on everything needed to implement the Kick-Off Program

This is an intense one-day seminar. Kick-Off Trainers will train the Kick-Off Coordinator Team from your school on all of the logistics needed to implement the Kick-Off Program. Your team should consist of a minimum of 2 Kick-Off Coordinators. The team can vary in size depending on the size of your school and the number of those interested in implementing the program. Coordinators chosen should be organized, outgoing, and excited to help with the development of the Kick-Off Transition Program. The position they hold in school is not as important as their level of enthusiasm for implementing the KO Program. Coordinators can be principals, counselors, assistant principals, teachers, class sponsors, coaches, student government advisors, and may even include a parent to assist in organizing orientation activities for parents or assisting with logistics in implementing the Kick-Off Program.

This process includes planning a comprehensive transition, orientation, and mentoring program that meets the individual schedule, needs, and goals of each school. Because each school has different schedules, demographics, number of students, and personnel, the Kick-Off Trainers work with each school to help customize their individual Kick-Off Program.

Each Coordinator participating in the Kick-Off Coordinator Workshop will receive:

  • Intense training on the Kick-Off Program
  • A Kick-Off Coordinator handbook with step by step guidelines for implementing the program and staying organized all year
  • Sample materials for each handout and mailing needed for the program
  • Continuous phone and email support
  • Continental breakfast during registration*
  • Lunch will also be provided for attendees*
  • *Only on-site workshop participants, not applicable for Internet based workshops
