Funding Solutions
Do NOT let a lack of funding prevent your students from enjoying the advantages of the Kick-Off Transition Program. We have some suggestions to help offset the cost for the school so you can conduct an effective comprehensive transition program. Regardless of current funding, every school can implement a successful Kick-Off Transition Program.
The following are suggestions to off-set school costs of implementing the Kick-Off Program:
- Present plan to your PTA/PTO or middle schools and ask for sponsorship
- Seek General Fund support from your central administration and school board
- Seek corporate donations and sponsorships
- Use vending machine/concessions proceeds
- Apply for local or federal grants (ie. Smaller Learning Community Grant)

- Title I funds
- Title IV-21st Century Schools (Safe and Drug Free Schools)

- Ask your teacher mentors to volunteer to assist during your Kick-Off Program
- Charge attendance fee to each student attending to help defray the costs*
*Most schools charge a fee of $15-$20 to attend the Kick-Off Orientation Day.
